Someone should remind Furstenberg that her success depended on a man teaching her everything she knows. You can't claim to be "Independent" until you receive help and depend upon others to help you get ahead. Why do rich people become successful and then magically forget all about this?

Diane Von Furstenberg has indeed earned her fame and fortune as an iconic fashion designer. However, after listening to her thoughts on topics related to women in numerous interviews, I notice that she has a tendency to alienate women who don't quite fit her perception of what she thinks is an "Independent Woman". She seems to have a negative perception of women who choose to make full-time, rather than part-time commitments to their families.
