iGuzzini lighting projects at the Expo 2010 in Shanghai - preview

This year's World Exhibition - inaugurated on 1st May in Shanghai - is drawing institutions, cultural associations, industry enthusiasts and curious people from all over the world to the city. The Expo Park expects to welcome over 70 million visitors to the activities and events taking place on its 5,28km2 exhibition area for six months.

iGuzzini is taking part in such a high-level showcase, where the different countries' standouts will be faced with one another, with a series of major collaborations, including its role as the official supplier of the lighting systems for Palazzo Italia designed by arch. Imbrighi, the specially designed product for the French Pavilion's external façades, the lighting fixtures for the Chinese Pavilion and the three UBPA_Urban Best Practices Area buildings promoted by the Environment Ministry.

Palazzo Italia was illuminated using last-generation fixtures - some of which designed specially to meet the different requirements of the Pavilions - based on energy-saving criteria and entirely controlled by lighting management systems.

The three floors of the building were illuminated using iGuzzini fixtures to create light scenes helping the visitors appreciate Italian excellence as designed by Giancarlo Basili.

In the ground-floor exhibition areas, in the restaurant, auditorium and office areas iGuzzini fixtures were used to highlight the shapes and colours of Made-in-Italy products whose appeal seems to never end: Tecnica or Le Perroquet projectors, wall-mounted Cestellos, The Reflex or Led Plus downlighters, i88 suspensions - to name just a few of the many products selected for this extraordinary architecture.
