  • @timemachineshow Yes.She seems very uncomfortable right off the bat.I detected a nervous quiver in her voice in the first few seconds of the song

  • WOW. Such a treat to see this rare footage of Donna Fargo before she hit it big in the '70s

  • i like this wonderful song =)

  • @MightySaturn5 It was pre-"Happiest Girl". This performance was done on the Melody Ranch show in 1967, where she was still a schoolteacher, appearing on TV for the very first time, where she performed 2 songs (see my previous post on details about this performance.)

  • @rmhand That must have been really great to see. I would love to meet her and see her live. I'm a big time Donna Fargo fan. Got a lot of her records.

  • @GorgonZa This particular song was never released commercially. It was only performed here on the Melody Ranch show in 1967, where in this particular episode, she performed two songs: Country Singer's Wife (Unreleased), and Daddy (which was released for the first time as a single a year after this performance in 1968. It was re-recorded on her Just For You album in 1979.) Note her particular shyness on this performance and compare it to her Hee Haw performances after getting used to performing.

  • whew. she's a hottie here!!!!

  • beautiful lady, beautiful singer......

  • Shes so beautiful

  • Although she didn't have any hit singles in the period between 1969-1971, the Academy Country Music, based in Los Angeles, awarded Donna, a U. of So. California graduate, gave her the Best New Artist award. In 1972, after she had the song "Happiest Girl in the USA", Decca Records re-released her Challenge record singles.
