Lol. Racism aside, Jamiroquai's music isn't necessarily hard to play, but the composition and arrangements are on a level you can't touch dude. The theoretical knowledge and skills required for that are pretty impressive, regardless how easy or hard it is to play.

are there any type of position markers on this bass? I know there aren't any on the fret board, but perhaps on the side of the neck? I just think having none would be confusing to try to quickly go to higher frets at a glance

I guess we're both correct, it's kind of ambiguous. I usually consider the bassline to be whatever comes out of the bass guitar, but after thinking about it, it's completely legitimate to refer to the lowest melody as the bassline.
