@dremoraman1 It has nothing to do with ideas... Even in books everything repeat itselfs...
It's just capitalism in the present days causing even the game market to release crappy and unfinished stuff as long as it brings cash.
Good PR decides if people are waiting for a book, a game , a movie but the products itself could be still shit afterwards because the trailers and reviews overpushed a specific item.

@dremoraman1 Huh...looking at it again...it's depressing. Maybe I'm too nostalgic for games like Tiberian Dawn, Deus Ex, Half Life 1 and Warcraft 2, all those 1995-99 era games seemed like a golden era now, innovative and experimenting with new concepts instead of making Gears of War 8 or Halo 'Instert epic name here', Just-Another-God Of War...
-
@l0rf I think that's quite sad, actually...

@dremoraman1 But it's still being sold and EA is still making millions off of Madden, FIFA and NBA, even though it's the same game with new numbers and some graphic tweaks every year.
-
@l0rf Of course they couldn't let it die with dignity, it's EA. Look what they did with The Sims. The first game was great. Second game was great (yes, I'm aware it was made by EA, but they were obviously better then). Third game is a piece of steaming shit, definitely not worth $40-$50.

@dremoraman1 C&C Tiberian Twilight officially is the last of the Command And Conquer games. Kane's gone, GDI controls the Tiberium through the Tacitus, NOD followers either ascended with Kane or will splinter up and get hunted down without the technology Kane gave them. The series is dead and they couldn't even let it die with dignity.
-
@l0rf They did what?! They killed off the C&C series?!
-
@TheShadowwolf88 oh yeah, been a longtime fan and still have the first game lying around, this is just saddening.
For me the C&C series ended with C&C 3.

@l0rf I agree completely. Most games are crap lately. Tiberian Dawn, Half-Life and Warcraft 2 I've played, and loved. Also Starcraft was great... All the old games were epic, like take a look at Morrowind, Daggerfall, and The Elder Scrolls: Arena (That was the first game), All of which I spent many hours playing. These large game companies are running out of ideas, thought VALVe seems to be doing pretty good. They really should just leave it to the smaller people, the ones with fresh ideas.
