In this video I dismantle my poor bike and lube the final drive splines (that don't seem to have ever been greased before... ) Are we having fun yet?

  • 2 Valve K bike rear splines should be lubed every time the rear tire is replaced. Use Staburags paste as the factory uses -OR- HondaMoly as used on Gold Wings. DO NOT use red BMW #10 grease-That stuff is GARBAGE. If your splines are damaged Bruno's Machine & Repair in Iron Bridge, Ontario can re-spline the pinion shaft and make a new splined collar for the drive shaft that is longer & capped so the grease stays on the splines.

  • Good stuff... What did you use to lube the splines with?

  • Good video. I made a full video of the front and rear spline lube and transmission service plus other stuff. Editing and posting it will take time.

  • Thanks for putting this up, I'm probably going to have to lube the splines on my bike soon (94 k75).
