Perhaps they drew their inspiration from a short story by John Wyndham: 'Meteor'. Similar setting, English country garden, encounter with moggy; different outcome. Perhaps Wyndham should have had credit for the idea.
Still puzzles me how our intrepid climbers negotiated the U-bend, but no matter!
