Berea, OH: 12-13-08, Part 2

Part two of a saturday afternoon/evening in Berea. This is where the action REALLY starts to pick up!

Trains 1 and 2: We were just on the way back from the BK drivethrough and the gates come down as we approach the crossing. We were expecting a norfolk southerm but just before the westbound NS appears, a westbound CSX rumbles across front street, and seconds later the NS intermodal rolls by. The CSX was led by a Dash 8 and an AC4400CW, and the NS was led by two SD70M-2's

Train 3: Just as we pull in the parking lot after the two trains clear front street, an eastbound UP coal train is on the approach. The train is led by an AC4400CW and a C44/60AC

Train 4: A westbound NS intermodal train led by and SD70M-2 and a Dash 9 begins to deccelerate as it rolls past BE tower. The lead locomotive also has a ditch light out.

Trains 5,6 and 7: First, a westbound NS manifest with an Ex-conrail SD60 rolls out from behind the cinderblocks and heads past BE tower. I was standing near the old station restaurant deck waiting for a CSX meet, and as i pan along with the NS you can see the Eastbound BNSF coal train on the approach. Then, we see a westbound CSX short manifest roll accross front street, pass me, and meet up with the Eastbound Coal train, led by 2 BNSF SD70ACe's. Excuse the shakiness when the BNSF's approach, i tried to wave to the crew, but at this point my fingers were getting frozen off and i was shaking violently. But the shot still came out relatively nice! Maybe a THIRD contender for best shot of the year =)

This is not F Tower, it is BE. F Tower is located in Fostoria. The final train on the video is N891 or N859 (I believe). I caught him the next day at Eastlake and Willowick, OH heading west. He probably initially went west to Chicago today. Anyways, nice video. Also, a note, the train with the ex CR SD60M and the burnt out ditchlight are two separate trains. ;)
