  • How come you can not only get water to flow so freely through your cartridge but also for it to cleanly push back the ink boundary in the sponge? I have tried exactly the same procedure as you suggest, my warm water behaving nothing like yours, it rather mixing with and diluting the ink rather than cleanly push it away as yours does. My sponge (so magically rendered white in your video) remains as black as ever.

  • @FrederickDelarge ... Suspect you are attempting to clear pigment ink and not dye based ink from your cartridge. Pigment ink stains foam sponges and cannot be cleaned away like dye based ink. Purging pigment ink cartridges can still be helpful. Regards

  • Does not harm chip in anyway. Do not remove chip. You can wipe chip contacts with rubbing alcohol. Just once over contacts with cloth. Then reset chip with resetter device. See my other video.

  • and what about impurities introduced by water (chlorine and some salts) that will remain on sponge and could be harmful for printheads??? thats the reason of using distilled water on ink disolutions

  • Wow, great video, I really appreciate your thought process and having it explained properly, thank you!

  • You are right, my cartridge ink is pigment rather than dye based. But of the two products, I would have thought that dye would more readily stain than solid pigment. And on viewing your video again I imagine a bleach based solution would get roughly the results shown (if used on dye) when flushed through the way you show. The ink seems to positively back away! Bws.

  • Thanks for the video excellent can you do one on ink refill process looks like your ink holder would make a great back scratcher as well

  • How to remowe all of the water from this cartdridge especially from sponge part of it? Can I use pigmented ink in CLI after flushing cartdridges and head?

  • It wont damage the chip?Or should the chip be removed?
