I don’t do any weird divebombs and pinched harmonics on it. [Laughs]”

thats how dave loops the swooping sound loop. just thought id help out. great vid by the way

@brandonberg I'm 99% positive that Matt Bayles used the same-ish notes on his keyboard to play along with Dave's sample.

@MrClark86 yeah its a crazy sound. thanks for the reply though. i always wondered if there was a keyboard patch mixed in with it too. you can really hear the sample well by itself towards the end of the song where the hits are

@brandonberg I sampled a slide from 8 / 9 on both the A and G strings. I actually don't think this is correct because I've seen a video of Dave recording this sample before the song and he was using his whammy pedal and I think his hand was in a very different position. However, this sounds pretty correct so it's do-able.

what do you sample into the right dl4 to make the swooping sound? something reversed?

I used to use this multi-effect pedal, I had a delay going there, but I think the actual delay setting in the song is a different timing, something kind of off beat, I don't remember off the top of my head though.
