Maurice White says it best at 2:56 - "We're talking about groove personified."
I was a 10 year old white kid in Connecticut in 1975. This stuff was SO FUNKY - that it probably scared me back then. As a grown musician, I can NOW appreciate just how great this is. Such a level of "tightness" with a dozen instruments requires a brilliant leader like Maurice White. The Beatles still effected my head the most - but this music targets the lower half of your body. Amazing.

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE MAURICE DANCING?

if you listen to the lyrics they were way ahead of their time..since the earth revolves around the sun hence mighty people of the sun...always a positive message in their music, incredible vocals unlike any other you hear today and the music is out of this world
EWF forever and ever...

Few other bands used horns, few other bands used 2 drummers and few other bands had tight vocal harmonies. Earth, Wind & Fire had/has it all.

1975 - the year I was born - paaaarrrty!!

I love EW&F for obvious reasons but also because their music conjures up sentimental feelings from my childhood. I was born in '68 so most of their early 70's music was out during my elementary school years and I can remember playing thier albums on my little record player and hearing my older family members playing the same albums on their big sound systems. I can remember being driven to school and listening to their songs on the radio. What sweet memories.
