Khone Falls, the largest waterfall on the Mekong River, is now being threatened by a hydroelectric dam building. If the dam goes ahead it will have a major impact on the Irrawaddy dolphins and another endangered species, the giant catfish. Building the dam would block the massive fish migrations that help feed millions of people within the region. The stakes are huge. This is one dam that must never be built. It was produced for Towards Ecological Recovery and Regional Alliance (TERRA) in 2008.
I hope that Laos governmemt think twice about building a dam in that area, I personally feel sorry for the people live around that area.

In the USA during President Bil Clinton (Democrat) people and government realized that a lot of dams specifically in the North West of the country had ruined the environment and migration of species of fish. So a lot of dams has been dismantled to restore and repair the environment mistakes that previous generations had made. I think this is big mistake that current Laotian government is doing. Maybe another 40 years the next generation will damn this generation.

Thanks for uploading this video! I'm sad that the Khone Falls may disappear. There are too many greedy people.
