Just very beautiful and subtle

I cant remember the first time I heard steve reich, I was back from a night out and just crashing out and there was a show on the local radio in manchester called 'the late night dance soundtrack' and they played 'chill out'(orb etc) stuff mainly but on this particular night they played Music for 18 Musicians and it blew my mind.

For those of you who don't know, the guy who commented below named "Vincent" is the director of the "London Steve Reich Ensemble" (which is why is user name is lsre). Their performance of Steve Reich's music is utterly exquisite! Vincent? PLEASE start making recordings we can buy! --Jack

I want to say so much about Steve Reich.. but if I think about it too much I think my head will explode. I hope some of you can relate to the feeling.

Hmm, interesting work, but I don't think it fits the music very well. The movements seem kind of chaotic doesn't blend too well with the smooth, swelling canons and pulses in the music. The movements should probably be slowed down and done with more deliberation I think, with respect to the music. The black and white, blurred video filter was a nice touch though. Check out Fase by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker for some really good choregraphy done to music by Reich

Very cool.

I think my favourite Steve Reich would have to be music for 18 musicians
