Beach cruiser with glowing wheels. Since the previous video I uploaded, the back wheel was redone, light blocking strips were placed on the outside of the front wheel cathode tubes (this minimizes the visibility of the purple/UV cathode lights).
During the day, the wheels look like normal wheels, as the glowing material is almost transparent.
The next video I post will show how it's setup, plus how it looks in daylight.

  • that's a really neat approach at glowing wheels! i like em!

  • @omgwtfbbqgtfo Thanks a lot! They are even brighter in person. The glow in the dark paint lasts forever, especially if you spray the wheel white first, then the glow, then a thin/light coat of clear protector. Thanks for watching!

  • @flynnfilms i bet. i just think it's cool as hell how you mounted some black lights on the the bike to get them glowing. makes me watn to try out the paint on some of my trucks interior.

  • @omgwtfbbqgtfo You should! That's a great idea. I think it's bright enough for a cool effect, yet not too bright that it would be a distraction to you or the other drivers. If you do it, post a video response. I'd love to see how it comes out.

By the way, the glow in the dark paint I used is "Krylon Glowz" from Michael's (art and craft supply store). I tried the stuff from Home Depot and it sucks. Hardly any glow at all. But the Krylon works great.

  • Also, if you are able to have constant UV light casting on the paint, and you dont need it to glow when the light is off, or away from the surface, then any flourescent spray paint will work. They have about 5 different colors at home depot. But remember, the instant the black light is turned off or moved away from the paint, there is no glow. Thanks for your comments.

  • How much are those blacklights? and where did you buy them?

  • @HelloFumofu They were about 7 bucks for each pair. The bike has a total of 4 black lights, 2 down each fork. They are not your typical fluorescent uv lights, they are actually "cold cathode tubes" usually used to light computer cases. I like these better because they are cheaper, smaller, lighter, brighter, run on less electricity and are in a clear plastic tube so they wont shatter. They also come in various colors, but these happen to be UV. Thanks for watching.

  • where can i get this paint?

i really need it for my bike!

  • And Bacon Strips

  • Bacon Strips.

  • Are you actually using a UV light? REAL UV light can severely burn you in only a couple seconds, are you sure it's not just a purple light?

  • how many colors are there?? and which looks best?

  • great concept ! i love this!. as the wheel turns, the black light keeps the glow paint glowing all the time :D

  • oh yeah. i tapped glowsticks to my bike. what now?:b

  • Can you please list the instructions on what to do to make rims glow and have the paint properly stick so it does not fall off easily. plz
