This controller features 4 modes:
MODE 1: Call of Duty: World at War (Post 6/11/09 Online Patch compatible)
This mode is both fast and practical for use on COD:WaW. It does not sputter, it is not a series of burst fires, it will not be detected on XBOX LIVE. It is a deadly constant stream of bullets which is ultra handy when dropshotting!
MODE 2: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare/Halo 3
G3, Barrett, M21, DE .50......you name it, every single fire weapon in this game becomes a machine gun while in this mode. Fast, yet still controllable. Works great in other games too like L4D, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and many others!
MODE 3: COD4:MW
Designed specifically for COD4, this mode ensures that all Juggernauts die!
MODE 4: Gears of War 2
This mode is made GOW2 and makes the Hammerburst fully auto with a touch of the right trigger. Also works great on pistols!

I think you're on the right track. The Halo 3 mode really doesn't give you that much more in terms of firing speed, it just eliminates recoil. Although we have modes that are designed specifically for these games (COD, GOW2, Halo 3), you can also use the rapidfire for other games like the Rainbow Six series, Street Fighter, etc. Basically any game that allows you to use the right or left triggers to fire.
