Fredric Arnold, P38 pilot in WWII, recounts his experiences, dangers, PTSD, lost comrades, and struggles at the Warrior Writers open mic at the Mercury Cafe in Denver, Colorado, on May 6, 2008.
"Between Two Worlds: Memorializing the Lost Men from the Class of 42J" is a documentary by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Aaron Weisblatt. This documentary is introduced in person by Fredric Arnold. During World War II, Arnold was a 21-year old P-38 fighter pilot who flew 50 combat missions in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He is currently the only living member of his original group of 14 fighter pilots, and is the author of the bestselling book "Doorknob Five Two", a vivid and personal account of the P-38 fighter pilots experiences in the war.
The documentary, "Between Two Worlds: Memorializing the Lost Men from the Class of 42J", follows the story of Arnolds year-long search to find the families of the young men who were killed during World War II. Using interviews, archival film footage and stylized readings from Doorknob Five Two, the documentary by filmmaker Aaron Weisblatt is ultimately a tribute and act of gratitude to the men who gave their lives, and to the families who suffered the loss of their loved ones. The 53-minute documentary is presented by Cinetrope Films. Executive producers were Marc Arnold and Bruce Golin. Original score was by Ira Ingber.
