@SgtPepperEverton Furthermore I did not assert at all that the Judeo/Christian ethic is responsible for all morality and meaning. I said your understanding of atheism is borrowing from it.

How can atheism make any moral pronouncements? Without God, there is no moral law. If there is no moral law, good and evil don't exist. If good and evil don't exist...you shouldn't trouble yourself by posting that slavery, etc is "disgusting" in the comments of a Christian video on youtube.

@SgtPepperEverton Confucius is the author of the "Golden Rule"? Oh man! If so, every culture that has every lived, owes that man a big "thank you".

What is the basis for saying slavery, racism, etc is "disgusting"? The Golden Rule is wonderful and should be followed, but can you articulate, as an atheist why it should be adhered to?

The Christian response is every human being has worth/value, because God has made them. How can you speak of worth if we are just atoms?

The fact that you think the concept of morality and meaning is Judeo/Christian is mind-blowingly ignorant and self-righteous.Confucius came up with the "Golden Rule" hundreds of years before the wandering tribesmen of the dessert thought up the Bible. Do you agree with slavery? If not, you don't agree with the morality of the bible. The bible condones slavery, racism, genocide, rape and much more, disgusting.

@SgtPepperEverton I think you ought to dig a little deeper into your own philosophy. Nihilism is atheism. How can you assert meaning, if you are simply a random coalescence of cosmic dust? Apart from God, that's all this is.

Yet you speak of meaning!  My friend, you are borrowing from the Judeo/Christian worldview, when you speak of right and wrong, good and evil, and meaning and purpose.

Again, I say you need to be more honest in your atheism.

@SgtPepperEverton Jesus is love and everything good and perfect. He's allowing you to experience love, fun, friendship, family, happiness, joy right now even though you don't believe in him. at the end of time, when he withdraws his presence from the earth, you won't have any of those things any more. and that will be torture. it's your choice. you're obviously very intelligent, but not intelligent enough to choose everlasting life. @del4830 Suggestion: learn the difference between Atheism and Nihilism.Not believing in a magical space dictator doesn't make life meaningless."Passionately" would be something of a gross over statement for my vague interest/enjoyment in trying to break people out of the shackles they've worn since being indoctrinated into a cult.You should try and understand what Atheism is before mistaking it for Nihilism in future.You only believe this shit because you're scared of death and you know it.
