This has always stood out for me; a fantastic track on an already fantastic album. I really love how the dark ambiance of the first 5:30 gives way to that heart wrenching piano solo. Its almost like waking up from a really profound dream and realizing that it wasn't real.

I've yet to watch any Ghost in the Shell but... hearing all this music yet again surges that curiousity to explore it once more.
But if I had to describe this piece in the meantime, it's almost like... one's life is fading. Or even life en masse is dying. As if there were little hope left, if any. It brings out such a sad feeling listening to it.

reminds me a little bit the music in the levels of the 'flying boat' in super mario bros.

@ESPSAlita she is quite secretive about her life it seems like, even adopting a persona for her singing talents.

How does Yoko Kanno compose her music? Does anyone know? Is she a pianist or does she play several instruments? She's obviously very talented but, other than her songs, I know almost nothing about her or the music that inspires her to write the way she does. If anyone knows anything please share.

It kind of reminds me of a quiet morning in the city when everything is just waking up from the nightlife and things are rustling to react to one another as another world begins to sleep.
