Day 1 of 3 for me seeing steam on my trip down to my gf's for the weekend, here we see GWR No.6024 'King Edward I' at Bath Spa arriving and departing with The Bristolian running Bristol to Paddington and return on the 28/08/2010

  • Memories! When I was a boy at school in Bath in the mid-50s I would spend hours on the up platform of Bath Spa trainspotting - and the Merchant Venturer

    was favourite after the Bristolian when it came to "named" trains. But those trees

    behind didn't exist then. That was where the stopping trains had a line behind the

    up platform and I used to catch the "local" to Box when a full station existed on

    the Bath side....a real Great Western station, long gone now..
