Disclaimer: If you already lost your device, this video will not help you, this is only for people who have not lost their device... ... ... Yet...
This obviously works for any apple device, whether it's a macbook, an iPod Touch, an iPhone, or believe it or not even your Apple desktop computer!
I highly reccomend this because you have no idea how it feels to lose it if you haven't already. I know of many people who have had their iPod/iPhone stolen, and I have myself, and it sucks, so remember these key things:
iPhone: Always keep a passcode on your device, you will be able to track it if it is stolen because it will be connected to 3G.
iPod Touch: Believe it or not, you SHOULD NOT keep a password on your iPod Touch, if it is stolen, and has a passcode, you will have basically no chance of finding it, because the person would have to wipe the iPod to get rid of the pass code, which will also delete this application. Instead, you should pay the $.99 to buy the app "My Seceret Folder", and put the "Find my iPhone" app inside there, and put a password on the folder. That way, when they get the iPod home, they will be stupid enough to connect to thier WiFi, and you will be able to track it right to their house, or wherever they are at, and they won't be able to delete the app, because it will be in you're seceret folder!
Mac/Desktop: This will work for a Mac or desktop computer that someone has stolen from you believe it or not, once they connect it WiFi, you can track it.

Guys like I said in the video, don't use a passcode for yout iPod touch. If you use a passcode the person who steals it will just reset the iPod to it's original settings, so everything on the iPod including "find my iphone" will be deleted and you will never be able to track it. If you don't put a passcode on it, they will most likely go on it and try out the internet and then you will be able to track them.

pointless if they remove the simcard

@DATxLATINxKID Nobody removes the sim card on an iPhone but yes it is pointless if they do. The average thief doesn't know how to take apart an iPhone to remove the sim.

This does work for iphone but not ipod ... My ipod was stolen the other day and the first thing i did was find someone with an iphone and used theirs to track it... So far ive been tracking for about a week and no luck ... So anybody that has a way on facebook or even in person how to get it i would appreciate it... I have $400 put into that ipod not including the apps or music

@NBDxCLANx It only works if they connect their iPod to the internet. This is why you should not keep a passcode on your ipod touch. This may seem dumb but if there is no passcode, they will go onto your ipod, and most likely connect to their local wifi hotspot. Then when they do that you will be able to track them.
