Yeah agreed. This game definitely brings me back great nostalgia to games like mario 64, the SNES games and also Ocarina of time (as far as its darkness goes at least). Really good game.
Also thanks to the user who uploaded this!

@faisalzrs Oh hell no; this game was so much darker than the first, which is probably what made it the more enjoyable of the two - instead of the traditional kiddy Mario theme where there's a bad guy and you go beat him up, now you have to deal with deception, conspiracy, old unused buildings (which I'm gonna admit, adds to the creepiness), way scarier ghosts, and Twilight Town.

This game was amazing. It had the right mix. Though it is a childish themed game, it wasn't afraid to reach dark areas and make several sarcastic jokes and remarks along the way.
It still remains one of my favorite Gamecube video games, second to Wind Waker.

I could have sworn that I heard the Nocturne of Shadow in the background.

i guess it's something like a graveyard town or something, right? ^__^
Well the whole place is nighttime. Very depressing town, and then you do pass a graveyard to get to Doopliss in his castle I think. Pretty good game and very very Dark for a mario game at least. Twilgiht town is not the only thing dark about the game to be honest.
