I never really liked Katm only because I was sad that Kim left and anyone that tried to "replace" her seemed weird especially when they made a "thing" between Kat and Tommy. Though now I ship Jason/Kim so it really doesn't matter haha. You're right though, people either loved her or hated her. The song fits and the video is great!
