Learning Bos Wars game AI

Shows an example of a Bos Wars ( http://www.boswars.org ) RTS game (somewhat accelerated) that uses a learning game AI technique. Rather than statically scripted, the red player is controlled by 2apl ( http://www.cs.uu.nl/2apl ). It is autonomous in it's decisions and can learn from past games using reinforcement learning techniques.

You can see it rush-building an army of soldiers. This behaviour wasn't pre-programmed in any way, but learned through trial and error over a couple of games. Actually, it found this specific counter-tactic after 11 played games.

@WogCentralFanbase I did this as part of my Master Thesis project at the Utrecht University in The Netherlands, where I studied Agent Technology. It combined an Agent Programming Language (2APL, C++) with Boswars (C++) plus several Reinforcement Learning Algorithms (such as Dynamic Scripting, Q learning and Monte Carlo learning) custom build into 2APL.

how do i make troops come faster?

In normal Lua scripts; you can increase the difficulty setting (the wait in the AI script then is shorter) or adjust the scripts by removing unwanted or unnecessary AI commands. See the scripts/ai/ directory.

type in google boswars click the first link and go to downloads and download it. can you do gorrilawarfare its easy to make super speed open up the files until you get a file that says fog of war=enabled and stuff like that then find game speed delete the number allready on it and put a bigger number this way even if the game speeds at the highest in option youll be able to go even faster.Sorry for bad spelling(my spell check is rubbish.)

I am sorry. This project was for educational purposes only and unfortunately not stable and well-tested enough to actually use in a real game. Also, it was build for an older version, not supported any more. Sorry again.

I'm afraid it has dependencies that are either not open source or unstable/unfinished. This, unfortunately, makes it non-viable. Also, the development on this project has halted for an undetermined time.
