Gabriel was probably aware of God's choice and that is why he called her blessed. This is a case of "the chicken or the egg." But I am not arguing the fact that she is blessed. Many people are blessed. I am saying she is not the "great intercessor." One must aproach God through Jesus, not through Mary or any other means. You say she asked Jesus to perform a miracle. So did many, many other people and none of them became called intercessor merely because they asked.

@Buzzsawman I don't know about you but many people ARE intercessors. Haven't you ever asked someone to pray for you? Maybe a friend, family member or pastor? Who better to intercede with her son than Mary. You are correct, many people are blessed, but the Bible declares that only one is "blessed among women". Mary is the greatest woman God ever created! Or, as Chesterton wrote: "tainted mankind's solitary boast". More importantly, you need to understand Mary's critical role in defeating the AC.

Jesus also said "No man gets to the Father but by me" I will continue to pray through Jesus' name and you go on praying to Mary. I will continue to believe as I do and you do the same. Mary was blessed because she was chosen by God to give birth to Jesus. From that time on she was and is blessed. Jesus meant that once Mary was blessed by being chosen that all generations would know her as being blessed. And yes I do call her that.

@Buzzsawman Okay, I am glad you accept Scripture. Now, you need to understand that Mary was not blessed because she was chosen, but rather she was chosen because she was blessed, as I will demonstrate from Scripture. This may seem like splitting hairs, but it is very important. The angel Gabriel calls Mary "blessed" BEFORE she conceives Jesus (Luke 1:28). God chose Mary to be the mother of His Son because she was already the perfect vessel.

I beg to differ. It was not Mary's intercession that facilitated the miracle. Jesus performetd the miracle through the power granted him by almighty god himself, not through anything that Mary may or may not have done.

@Buzzsawman We seem to have different definitions of the words "intercession" and the word "power". I never said that Mary's "power" produced Jesus' first miracle. Jesus performed His miracle at Mary's bequest. Please don't try to tell the thousands of cripples who have left their crutches at Lourdes that praying to Mary is of no benefit. The Bible says that "all generations shall call Mary 'blessed'". Do you?

these people are loonies and no mistake. the spiral has a perfectly ordinary explanation. as for Fatima, it' was a bit odd nobody else anywhere else in the world noticed such a massive event.

it wasn't god, and it wasn't a rocket malfunction..... if you do that much research to connect all these crazy points to be yet another unfulfilled prophecy of the end times, you can easily discover that the spiral was caused by the norwegian equivalent of HAARP, which very well may be the end of the world at some point... but that's undeterminable so far. god is just your imaginary friend that keeps you company, and apparently, is a fulfilling hobby for you...

We both can go on arguing till we are blue in the face and neither one of us is going to give an inch. Let's just agree to disagree and each one of us stay our course and see what happens. I agree that Mary was a remarkable woman, I just don't think she was a deity. I will pray in the method Jesus and approach the Father through him. If you wish to circumvent Jesus by praying to Mary...that is your way. Thus endeth the sermon
