Soundresponsive LED system

I've made this electronic circuit out of some LED's in series hooked up to a transistor, battery and a jack-plug for my computer.
The LED's light up with the current from the battery only when the transistor opens that gate and let the current flow - when the transistor gets a signal from the jack-plug via a computer/iPod/iPhone or other music device.

All this is done looking at a tutorial on http://www.instructables.com/id/Music-LED-Light-Box/ he has done an amazing work!

what circuit diagram did you use?

i found a few online, but have tried making them.

I've found the circuit at instructables (.com) it extremely easy to understand, and you cant mess it up :)
