Festival is the original name of this H.P. Lovecraft poem. Yule Horror was the name it was published under, to Mr. Lovecraft's surprise and I'm sure, disliking.

I covered Yule Horror a while ago but wasn't aware of the last piece of writing that was left out. So I decided to revisit it and complete the poem.

And mayst thou to such deeds
Be an abbot and priest,
Singing cannibal greeds
At each devil-wrought feast,
And to all the incredulous world
shewing dimly the sign of the beast.

  • It sounds like something is said in reverse between sentences. Is that so?

    Anyway: nice and scary!

  • can u send me the audio file pls?

  • Wow -- I didn't know that "Yule Horror" wasn't Grandpa's original title! I just looked it up in S. T. Joshi's superlative edition of H. P. Lovecraft's Complete Poetical Works, THE ANCIENT TRACK (Night Shade Books, 2001), and sure enough, it's publish'd there as "Festival."

  • Awesome.

  • Gracias

  • Ummm.... Odd, but cool!
