I watched that tour when Clapton came to Bercy, France in 2004. Until Eric presented the band, I had no clue the organist was Billy Preston. Shame on me...

Eric is classic skool and Robert is that newer high energy skool. Players seem to get better all the time with the licks. Musicians just borrow the best of everything polish it, mix it up and make their sounds. Its all good you can draw from anything if your in the zone to pick up on right vibe.

Robert Randolph is quite incredible and Clapton should kiss his ass! Clapton is great but so is Randolph. Cannot acknowledge one while dismissing the other.

@ozzy4president91; you nailed it, the rest of these guys are regulars and Robert was sitting in as a featured player. @Glenneveaux: Oz wasn't trying to upstage you, he was just pointing out that this is EC's regular band. If you've ever seen Doyle Bramhall II before, you'd know that his body language is pretty normal for him....he's a journeyman guitarist with a really good gig...it's what he gets paid for. As for your "pearls" comment...get over yourself...it's an open forum.
