I heard this from Mike Seeger's fiddling of New Lost City Ramblers "The Early Years" when I was 15 for the first time. I bought that album when I caught a cold and stayed home. I listened it so many times on the day.

Mike Seeger has many fans in Japan. He toured Japan in mid '70 with Alice. Many folk music fans in Japan were impressed. After that, most of recordings by himself and New Lost City Ramblers were released in Japan.

この曲はMike Seeger "Old Time Coutry Music"というレコードからコピーしました。40年くらい前­、中学生だったときです。それ以来、好きなので気が向くと弾いて­いるので、だんだんMike Seegerのオリジナルとは違っているかもしれませんね。Iv­anさんのversionもとってもきれいですね。そのほうが、­本当のtraditionalでしょう。

I copied this version from the album "Old Time Country Music" by Mike Seeger some 40 years ago when I was a middle school student. I occasionally practice this my favorite tune since then. The version I play may have become a bit different from the original version of Mike Seeger.

@SUSUMU620 Thanks for the info. I am really impressed by the very rapid notes (grace notes?) you play in I think the 3rd and 4th measures of the first part. I'll try to figure out how to do that myself this winter, and I'll post a video if I can do it. I would like to incorporate that into my version.

I think your version is closer to the traditional ones than mine actually.

I'm a big Mike Seeger fan as well. He actually passed away a couple years ago. I didn't know he had fans in Japan.
