I am 20 yo and would've loved that call...I don't know if it is true or not, but the older celebrities seemed to be waaaay mooore morally grounded than modern celebrites.

Cool to see Mike on the Daniel Boone DVDs visiting Fess at the Winery!

My condolences to Superfan Mike for the loss of his idol.
My dad was employed by Fess as his handyman many years ago and knew him as a sweet, gentle man.
RIP Fess

I agree Fess Parker is a class act. I knew he played Davy Crockett, but didn't know he played Daniel Boone untill the show came to DVD. I was more fimliar with him playing Davy Crockett.

That must have felt very good! Fess Parker is a class act!

dear ono69: you are probably a teenage cynical jackass--and why wouldn't Fess Parker cll his biggest fan--somehow he got wind of Mike's collection--and was moved by it enough to call-some stars do appreciate their fans--but that wouldn't register on your tiny brain--you idiot--so go play a video game or something--that's all your small mind can handle

Absolutely right, and 'knowing' Fess, I'm not at all surprised he'd call Mike! And that's unmistakeably his voice! Mike, I hope to one day meet/talk to him, myself! -- also a big fan since I was a kid!

That is so cool to be able to talk to someone like that. How nice of Fess to call you. That doesn't happen everyday. Good for you Mike!

Wow so cool! As a young Montana girl transplanted to the City of Eugene OR at the age of 7, I was taunted for my Daniel Boone lunch box. A couple of days ago I saw Fess Parker as Posey in The Dirty Dozen. I know now he is pure animal magnatism, I just didn't get it back then. Sure wish I still had that lunch box, Damn those bullies.
Congrats on a fantastic collection.
