Five Seasons Unveils "I Lost it At the Club" Program, Set for Jan. 10th Start

Burr Ridge, IL -- December 21, 2010 -- When you hear "I lost it at the club," a set of misplaced keys or a favorite workout shirt might come to mind.

But starting on Jan. 10 at Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Burr Ridge, the phrase takes on an altogether different meaning: losing some, or all, of those pounds that you've been lugging around for awhile.

'I Lost it At the Club!' is an eight-week motivational weight loss program designed to help current members and people from the local community keep their New Year's resolutions and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle year-round.

The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) administers the program. At Five Seasons, the program runs for eight weeks through March 7.

As part of the program, Five Seasons will launch multiple group training options and hold educational workshops each week presented by fitness and medical professionals. In addition, the club is opening up the program to non-members.

The program is more than simply a personal training tool, Brian Myers, Five Seasons' director of fitness, said.

"It's a total club concept to make people aware of healthy options, and to reach their new personal bests in exercise and health," Myers said. "What better way to do it than with a team of like-minded fellow members and trained staff who can offer professional guidance?"

Through the "I Lost It" program, Five Seasons is offering three half-hour personal training sessions for $99.

Last year, Five Seasons named member Sharon Anderson of Downers Grove as its "I Lost It" Honorary Ambassador.

After joining the club in February 2008—and committing to a lifestyle change that centered on consistent exercise at the club—she lost more than 100 pounds. Anderson has kept it off for nearly two years.

"For many Americans, January 1st means resolutions," said James Hazzah, Five Seasons' chief club officer. "Instead of quitting their workouts two months into the year, we want 'I Lost it At the Club!' to spur on healthy living as a part of everyday life. The key is committing to exercise for life, not just for achieving short-term goals."

At Five Seasons, participants receive activity cards designed to make every workout different and fun, as well as periodic newsletters filled with useful information and exercise tips. Program winners will receive prizes as well.

IHRSA is a not-for-profit trade association representing health and fitness facilities, gyms, spas, sports clubs, and suppliers worldwide. The association's membership includes over 9,100 health clubs in 78 countries, along with over 730 industry suppliers.
