Feeding a Fox

I was driving home from Obihiro to Muroran on the country roads of Hokkaido and came across this friendly fox in Hokkaido. He must have been pretty hungry!

They don't forget how to hunt. Domestic cats are fed by humans and very much know how to hunt. The problem with feeding wild foxes is getting them too used to people, and people are dangerous - but if one is already that used to humans to the point of coming up for food, I don't see what's wrong with giving him a snack.
