This is my contribution to The Ultimate Hammond B3 Clone Challenge.
I think i got the sound pretty close, but not as crispy. It still sounds killer though. But i think i could get closer if i turn up the treble on the electro a bit..
This was recorded with a Nord Electro 3 and my DIY leslie cabinet, the "Smallboy". The speaker is in STOP mode in the beginning of the examples.

  • I love the speaker. I thought this was actually a production speaker by Nord. I glanced at this video a few months ago and have been looking for that red Nord Leslie ever since. Didn't realize it was a DIY. lol Very nice idea.

  • Haha, thats funny :D

But not so strange anyway, since i´ve built it to match the Nord..

  • Tjena!

  • nice... Makes me dare to paint my pristine Leslie 122 cab. red.... Think I should build my own instead>? (ATTN: YouTube post guy)

  • Haha, no i wouldn´t do that to a 122 beauty :)

  • Hi, I love the sound of your Nord Electro. I'm a novice to these things. Could you explain to me how you connected your Nord Electro to your small Leslie speaker? It would help greatly if you know show me photos of the connector. My e-mail is yjk316@Unitel.co.kr Thanks a lot.

  • This is interesting.

    please show me in japane.

  • @pontushenrikson Love the DIY cabinet! I've been trying to find good info on the web for putting a cab like this together and haven't found much. Do you have dimensions / sketches / schematics you would be willing to share? I would greatly appreciate anything you would be willing to tell me.

  • Very cool. And nice job playing, dude! Original or cover?

  • @pontushenrikson u should put the schemtics on the internet man...

  • very fine job the speaker is good enough to use around us purist hammond/leslie church players, which is where you find the most serious and picky of hammond/leslie fanatics. very well built floor. good angles and professional cuts. whats that youre building?
