The day these images were taken, the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals Wheels of Hope fleet transported 101 cats and kittens, 11 dogs, and 4 chickens out of the city shelter. This is the story of two of those animals, Cookie & Brandon, starting their new lives.
In 2010, Wheels of Hope transported over 8,400 dogs and cats (and chickens, swans, snakes, alligators, birds, lizards...) out of the city shelters and into no-kill shelters, foster homes, rescue groups, and vet hospitals.
