Bruce Lee demonstrates the straight lead punch to James Coburn during a private lesson. Punch is so fast I had to slow down the clip then slow it down some more. I was able to also pan the camera so that you can see his feet more clearly.

  • 00:25 i´m new to JKD,can anyone tell me why " hand before foot" ? if you do it at the same moment it will made more damage beacause of the weight distribution, you will loose this if you do the " hand before foot" (i´m just interested in self/family defense).

  • @corporacionmonstruo It's so your opponent cannot see your intention. If you move, your opponent may 'beat you to the punch'. I slowed down the video so you can see that Bruce's body follows after the punch is thrown, the time is very short that no power is lost. It's not a natural body movement, if you think about it when we walk we step first before we swing our arms.

You should also look up, 3 point landing.

  • It's not biu jee.. Anyways i like it..

  • @Kazuyaabi if you don't believe it's the bil jee, what do you think it is? To me Bruce Lee throws it like the straight lead, but some people were all uppity about him not clinching his fist

  • @larssonk22 Biu Jee is a 3rd and last form of Wing Chun kung fu. Btw i say to all commentors...you guys have to get rid of from having a kung fu brain salad immediately :) whatever style-technique it is..Don't be a formalist obsessive nor mma brained shitbag (what the fuck ever it is ...they think, they determine what is true accurate in fighting LOL) to discuss nonsense. Just do your things.

  • @Kazuyaabi agreed :)

  • @larssonk22 i see it now,just a fraction of a second " befor foot".thanks for you answer

  • @Kazuyaabi I had some of this footage back in 1995. It's Bruce Lee, dude.

  • You can see Bruce Lee stressed footwork and mobility with the techniques. He is very dynamic not rigid.

  • It's a finger jab....doesn't belong to any fuckin style.
