@DaftAida If you look at when Chris posted this video you would see that he posted its months before the Arab Spring started. There wasn't any food riots, etc. at that time. The Earth is roughly a 12,000 km (8,000 miles) diameter sphere with a volume of 1.08321×1012 km3 and a mass of 5.9736×1024 kg. Thus, no matter how many energy bound resources are available simple logic will provide that it's limted to less than these numbers. ie there is only a finite amount of resources within the Earth.

A very powerful case, especially about managing resource limits, our species' need to adopt exponential thinking to replace incrementalism, and about 'Peak Everything', imminent depletion of essential minerals beyond oil. What about the argument that technological innovations engender redemptive paradigm shifts? e.g. new generation & distribution of clean renewables, especially solar
