  • @agento1001 I do realize it. As an epileptologist, I also am concerned about the lack of public knowledge regarding what seizures/epilepsy is.

There are countless people on youtube who either regard seizures as being some psychiatric problem or as a manifestation of, "being possessed."

My goal is to educate people about seizures/epilepsy in whatever modality I may be involved in.

Bottom line, if I see ignorance (as is often on youtube), I'll call people out on it and strive to clarify things

  • I was expecting him to scream "medical!"

  • @JennaMDoucette after the seizure she was all herself, she wanted to stand up and take a drink but they just made her lay down without question. after her seizure she was as fine as she was before she had it. maybe she should been brought to an emergency center after all, idk much about siezures and how they affect you, but i just feel bad for the woman. as you could see at about 1:23 shes like "this is fuckin bullshit"

  • @Virtace3 yeah.... she looked real fine, barely able to stand, dazed, confused. yep, should of just left her there to tend to herself

  • she was feeling 100% fine after that, they wouldn't stop bugging :I

  • Some one drove by playing Eddie Money......

She was shakin' (oh oh ooo oh)

Snappin' her fingers (oh oh ooo oh)

She was movin' round and round (oh oh ooo oh)

That girl was shakin' (oh oh ooo oh)

  • ohh... poor her :/

  • @416mcp I have epilepsy and I think I'm in the majority in that I only go to the hospital after a major seizure event. You're supposed to go to the hospital if it's your first or if it's a particularly long seizure (longer than a few minutes) or if there are multiple seizures in a short period of time, unless your doctor wants you to come more often. Also, many people with the condition prefer to be referred to as people with epilepsy, not epileptics.

  • @jeffmt268426 Very few people actually have photosensitive epilepsy, which is when strobe lights or other flashing lights cause a seizure. I have epilepsy and they don't affect me at all.

  • @mehamo I agree with you. Kinda sad that many people do not know what it is

  • @416mcp

Not every day, no. As I said, the keyword in that last comment was "unconsciousness". Not all unconsciousness conditions are seizures. Now, I've had seizures before, but as I said, because of other people noticing right away (whether 911 was needed or not), my life was saved.

  • @gameshowguy2000 so every time a epileptic has a seizure they need to go to hospital? I didn't think they needed to but I I am not epileptic so really don't know. I do know someone whose baby would have a number of seizures a day (daily)....they didn't go to the hospital every day. They worked closely with their drs to help their baby, and were wonderful parents. I felt so bad for them and their baby.
