Tickets Available For Providence College Men's Basketball Versus Merrimack At Alumni Hall
Tickets Are $15 For General Admission

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Limited tickets are available for the 2009-10 men's basketball team exhibition season opener against Merrimack in Alumni Hall. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. The contest will mark the first time the Friars have played a game in Alumni Hall since January 22, 1978 when they hosted the Russian National Team in an exhibition game. The last time they played a regular season game in Alumni was the 1971-72 season.

The athletic department will hold costume contests. Providence College students and the general public are encouraged to wear a Halloween constume. The winner of the student costume contest receives BIG EAST Tournament Tickets and the winner of the general public contest wins two courtside seats for a non-conference men's basketball game. Candy also will be provided for all fans that wear a costume.

Providence and Merrimack have met one previous time, in 1955, when the Friars defeated the Warriors, 79-56. The game is the first of two exhibition contests for the Friars, with the second being against Stonehill College on November 7, at the Dunkin' Donut Center.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and can be purchased by calling (401) 865-GOPC or visiting the ticket office located on the first floor of Alumni Hall.
