Well, I guess they wanted it to be like the book where the speech bubbles for Rorschach were drawn very roughly to imply mumbling.
But it sounds clear right now, as long as theaters put money into good center channel speakers he should be heard fine.

Yeah, people are complaining about some scenes not being shot-for-shot...
But it is like 70% shot for shot.
the color palette, costumes, angles are different for certain scenes...
But compared to LOEG, V for Vendetta, From Hell...
The only movies that are as close to accuracy as Watchmen currently are 300 and Sin City and that's because the actual writer/artist was there to help direct.
It still captures the spirit of the book so amazingly. I love Zack Snyder.

Yeah absolutely. I loved it, even if it wasn't shot for shot and word for word. I went to the midnight showing with some friends of mine. We each read the graphic novel, and we each seemed to like it. It was quite an experience. Dark Knight and Watchmen are definitely the best comic book movies ever!!!!!

its not shot to shot but damn, its almost word for word. seriosly.

Give the examples you stated sounds like Zach was the best person for the job. I'm glad he's doing it.
Robin Williams as Rorschach. That's the craziest thing that stood out to me. Glad that never happened.

Even directors and writers who I respect a lot, would have messed it up.
Darren Aronofsky's version would've taken place in present day.
Paul Greengrass would've used David Hayter's script, which involved Veidt dying and other changes.
Terry Gilliam's had Robin Williams set up to play Rorschach and it used Hamm's terrible script.
Biggest change in Zack's apart from -squid?
Metropolis' Crimebusters meeting = Veidt's Watchmen meeting
Nite-Owl finds out what happened to Rorschach
thats it mostly

Yeah, Rorschach is my favorite character, even though I'm nothing like him. For that matter who is? But yeah, I went to Wondercon yesterday and went to the Watchmen Panel. I saw the first about 10 min maybe 15 min of the movie and I was very pleased. Sure, it wasn't shot for shot just like the comic. But it seems to capture the essence of Watchmen to me.
Awesome!!!!! Thanks for the upload!!!!!
Now for a geek analysis. One of the lines that stood out to me was "Silhoutte. Murdered. A victim of her own indecent lifestyle." It's interesting cause he never comments on her lifestyle in the comic. I think it may be to emphasize his conservatism. Which in the comic, the line that showed his conservatism was him judging silk spectre and called her a "dying bloated aging whore."

Yes, I think you're quite correct. The scene, given it's placement, should be extra-effective for non-fans. The audience will remember the opening montage not long before, seeing "Lesbian Whore" written behind Silhouette's corpse and Dollar Bill's body in the revolving doors. And suddenly it'll click into place. Excellent storytelling at the same time as establishing character.

Ho...ly...shit...
I've never been so hooked on a movie I've never seen before. This already...without even seeing it...is my favorite movie of all time.
On a side note...isn't Silk Spectre II the sexiest thing you've ever seen on film? Good gawd...
I love this movie..m

Just look up youtube user Blunty3000's review. He is clearly ecstatic and says the film is probably in his top three of all time. If I had a magic lamp I'd wish to be as happy as him when I see it!!

Excellent stuff. I'm just worried that Rorschach's voice might be too muffled and raspy, kind of like batman in The Dark Knight, in which the audience might miss key information because of Rorschach's mumbling.

Maybe it's because I'm so familiar with the words from the comic, but I for one understood everything he said perfectly.
