  • This is actually the 1st baklava recipe I've found that uses honey (which I was looking for) in the syrup. I think the honey gives such a great flavor. Can't wait to make this again. It's been a few years.

  • I always buy Baklava at the turkish restaurant in SF, I really like the taste. Next time I will try to make it myself.

  • @warrie14 Actually Baklava was first made under the Yuan Dynasty is China in the 13th century...

  • THIS RECIPE IS PRETTY GOOD... BUT NEXT TIME I MAKE IT I'M GOING TO USE HALF THE SUGAR MIXED IN WITH THE NUTS. TOO MUCH SUGAR TAKES AWAY FROM THE NUTTY FLAVOR, AS THIS RECIPE DOES. BUT, I LOVE THE SIMPLE SYRUP!! THANKS "I LOVE TO COOK A LOT".

  • @boecke91 Thanks for the tip, I'll try this next time. But why does it make a difference? Thanks again!

  • It's not Baklava, it's Baklowa

  • not a word about how you melt the butter :)

  • AWESOME. i just made my own homemade orange flower water! yum!

  • @amcd300 I think it was her butter starting to burn a little.

  • OK, Miss I-love-to-cook a lot... the baklava is in the oven right now. My first time. And out of all the recipes, I liked the way yours looked the best (plus the honey part). So ... 45 more minutes and then I get to blaze it with the syrup. I used organic California orange honey. It made my kitchen smell like flowers when the syrup was simmering. I'll have to post again to let you know how divine it came out. Thank you.

  • @33333333333333331993 There must've been a misunderstanding... I thought you were saying that I was a colored Muslim. Hate to break it to you, but I'm a white guy. Nothing sandy about them cheeks, pal. Hope I didn't kill your vibe. No pun intended.

  • @33333333333333331993 Oh, I'm sorry, there must've been a misunderstanding... I thought you you meant colored people. Sorry to kill your vibe (no pun intended), but I'm white. Nothing sandy about them cheeks, buddy. Go join the military - maybe you'll get stuck on missile guard and blow yourself up. Yeah, and I'm just a sand-nigger...
