That is the one problem with snares. Knock on wood, I havent had any trouble with non-targets in snares yet. Had a cat get into a foothold set for Skunks a couple months ago. Got it released without much trouble. I saw it again about a week ago. Whole and healthy as could be. Good to see you got him out ok. I find it rather funny when people complain about "All the animals we kill and throw away". But they wont say a word about the common barbed wire fence.

caught a button buck in snare let him go had him by leg snare had break away but didnt work let him go an he rared up an beat me up pretty good till i pushed him away! looks like im not the only one who loves whitetails enough to let them go good job guys keep it up!

@DettyOutdoors its good to know what your talking about before you make a post. Just a troller looking to be smart. Way to many misconceptions for the non-trappers out there and it is so easy for someone to assume something rather than read up and learn what they wish to trash talk about.

Good job on the release. We have break aways in WI but even then they dont always break away, released one on Monday little doe.
thats why thay have deer locks so that dont happen

@yup703 These snares were equiped with "deer" stops. Deer stops are only effective if a foot, catches the snare. It prevents the snare from tightening up, to trap a foot or leg sized object.
