Introduction cinematics(part 1 of 2) for Origin's Wing Commander 4 space combat simulator. The counter in the upper right hand corner is Fraps telling me how many frames per second the recording is using.

Can you help me? I have the original DOS version of this game but I cannot install it even with DosBox. It says that there is not enough free space on my winchester but there is plenty! This is the same problem with Wing Commander 3 but fortunately I can play the game without Dosbox. What should I do?

@Drowfan Installing thru DOSBox may require installing to the C drive. One avenue for help if you've tried multiple hard drive locations is the WCNews site

@DaveCaspermeyer I know that site and followed their instructions but could not succeed. :( How did you install your game? Or do you have the DVD version?

@Drowfan I had some thoughts about the issue, and if I'm not mistaken you need to install the patch that let's you run the game from Windows. One way to achieve this is to copy the content of the CD to a directory. After successfully applying the patch, you should be able to install the game.

Just read an article where Chris Roberts said he's definitely into the idea of re-visiting this series he created. He's ready to get back into game making. Imagine what could be done with today's technology and gaming horsepower!! I loved these games. There's been a loooooong dry spell on space sims. :^(

for those looking for the game there is a vendor off ebay-who is now selling a version of WC 4 that will work with windows 7, got a copy-just keep in mind since the graphics are out of date from the mid 90's it works but the video at times can be chopy

@BakaDaruku Yeah. While there have been games with better gameplay, this has the best story and setting out of any game ever. Darn, it's better than most movies and tv-series i've seen.

I use to play this on my Pentium 200MMX with 64 megs of ram, Soundblaster Awe 32, Canopus 6meg Pure 3D card and Gravis Phoenix joystick.
