This was to be a just a lower level viewing of what started out as a normal day for the passengers of the MTH Amtrak Surfliner and the crew of the Lionel RS-11... That was until the horrific crash in the tunnel just after the announcement of the next stop for the Surfliner. Due to limited tunnel access in this region, we will have to await the findings of the NTSB investigation into the accident... LOL... I'll update this later as I pull everything out and figure out what went wrong... Sure sounded like a hard hit... OUCH !!! This is my 49th Video, hard to believe.. I want to do something special for my 50th, so it may take me a bit... Thanks for Watching !!!

  • the next sound was the pacemaker in your chest exploding haha nice work on the layout though! :)

  • @21navyseabee Very Good !!! And so true !!!! It make me cringe for sure... Thanks for the kudos... And thanks for your service as well Sailor !!!

  • I don't need no stinking NTSB! I just lift up my little Marx tin tunnels and put my trains back on the tracks and pretend like it never happened. I have to admit, the word "Crash" made me look. LOL

  • @chiconian49 You crack me up Chuck !!! LOL... You have no idea how bad I cringed when I heard that smack in the tunnel, I envisioned the worst and it took me 2 days to tear the mountain apart to see what happened and fix the issue, and a few more days to put it all back together.. The simple Marx tunnels sound very appealing in that respect... lol.. good thing for that emercency stop button !!! Thank you for the kind comment as always my friend. I hope you & yours are well...

  • ouch... I could hear what may have been the point of impact at 1:15 That's gotta hurt for those surfliner passengers! Lol :)

  • @trinityct Yeah, and the operator too... lol... I've never hit the kill switch so fast before that...Luckily only minor damage & no fatalities....

  • @puttrainguy i still recall the sound of my super-detailed brass northern hitting the deck! oh boy, if i had a pacemaker, that wouldve been the day.

  • @puttrainguy

My friend Malcolm built a very beautiful mountain and tunnel on his American Flyer layout. He invited me over to watch the trains run through it. As his steamer entered the tunnel, we heard a loud commotion inside and a little white kitten ran out just in time to avoid the train. Malcolm snatched up the kitty and shouted to his wife, "Honey, I found your missing cat!" We all had a good laugh. Seriously, my twin mesas to be lifted for easy access for when Murphy pays a visit.

  • @puttrainguy That's good.. I've had worse...... My ho Amtrak AEM-7 was once accidentally knocked off the table and lost one of its pantographs, fortunately, no passenger fatalities or injuries, but the conductor & engineer in the cab didn't live the 3 ft drop from the table to my friends foot (the initial cause of the accident) before finally coming to res on the concrete floor. The AEM-7 still works, though, so not a huge loss... :)

  • @pauliewalnutsful Thats actually what went through my head when this happened... lol... No exposion though... Maybe next ime.... Thanks for the fun comment...
