Sprogs are wire braced struts enclosed in the sail that support the outboard trailing edge on high performance flexwing hang gliders to maintain the washout (twist) in the wing. This washout is essential in order to provide pitch stability, especially at low or negative angles of attack that may be encountered due to turbulence.
