speedboat on the mekong river, laos

there are two ways to get from luang prabang to huay xai on the waterway (roads are even slower and untrustworthy) - one might take a leisurely slow boat ride for two days, or if you are in a time crunch (that was my case) and don't mind getting cramps - you might take a 7 hr speedboat ride. i felt it was a wonderful way to view the river valley and the life it rears on both sides. from huay xai, i just made on time to chiang khong
to cross into thailand on that day (in fact they were about to close and leave, i was the last person to cross the border on that day i guess).
