I'm actually so glad I'm not the only person who preferred him as the Beast.

ME TOO, ever since I was a kid.

Now that I see his human form again, I realize they were going for a classical Greek sort of profile, and I still don't find that particularly attractive. ALSO. HIS HAIR. NO.

Here's what really bothers me

It's not that he got turned back into a human, as that was part of the deal. My problem with the movie is that it doesn't explain why he is still alive after being stabbed by Gaston. I don't think the deal was that he would be invulnerable if he got love in return.

Perhaps because it's technically the same body and he wasnt dead, just knocked out.

you now also say that of Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Also, though not technically human, Nala didnt fall in love with Simba like withing the first 5 seconds.. there is depth to that relationship unlike the earlier 50s movies. And Jane from Tarzan also is not immediately impressed... tho admittedly she does not hold a candle next to belle or jasmine
