  • wow...i dont know whether to laugh or be pissed off...someone needs to do their homework. I just came home from japan and yes...there are still geisha in the smaller towns.

  • I can't believe someone that speaks so secure on what he's/she's talking about, can be SO ignorant.

[even though you may know somethings about Geishas, tayuus, and Oirans]

*Geishas did practiced the mizuage. They still do, ONLY if the Geisha wants.

*Geishas were NEVER servants of the Tayuu an the Oiran!!! They just have similar things [dancing, entertaiment, etc]

*The Geishas were never allowed to have sex with clients [only excepting the mizuage]. That's why the "Red District" existed.

  • omg

  • i think it is pretty good, even though it was not traditional :3

i especially like the one in the white kimono, she is very good.

  • The song is called sakitama by rin'.

  • what song is that?

  • Please, tell me, what sing is used for this dance?

  • Mizuage did exist, nowadays its is forbidden! Actually geishas were servants of the tayuu and the oiran at Yoshiwara and Shimabara. Basically, tayuu and oiran disappeared because they were expensive, so men found sex pleasure in low ranking prostitutes and the skills of writing, dancing and acting of the courtesans remained in the geishas. Of course Memoirs is wrong (it didn't exist those parties to present only one msiko 4 example.Another thing, geishas never leave Japan! At least the real ones

  • I strongly agree.

  • I agree, this dance was not Traditional, but even though it wasn't traditional it was still ver good for Maiko.

  • yeah, the music their dancing to is more modernized and not exactly traditional.

    It is pretty music though.
