Retrofitting an old iPhone dock for the new 3G model

I'm showing you how to adapt your old iPhone 1G / 2G dock for the new 3G iPhone which, apparently, doesn't come with one.

I guess the 4G model comes without a cable...

When you drew the black lines... did you shave off the black lines as well?

It really depends on how close you drew the lines to the phone. I suggest to just try to dock the phone before going beyond these lines. If it doesn't fit already, continue.

Actually it's really hard to rip duct tape.. I'd have used scissors

i can fit my iphone 3g on 2g dock (and it woks), but i will try this...
