The basic flam is a foundational pattern that you'll need to learn in order to play more advanced rudiments. You won't be able to play the flam accent, flam tap, flamacue, single flammed mill, flam paradiddle, flam paradiddle-diddle, or several other rudiments without first learning the basic flam.

Why are all these expert drummers watching a rudimentary drum lesson and commenting on it? I'm a beginning drummer and this gentlemen was able to explain to me the concept of flam in a minute. Seems pretty damn good to me.

If you can teach better, make a video! Don't keep all that talent to yourselves. Share it with the world!! Until then shut your fucking pie holes.
