  • @Greenmarine6 Have you got any idea how expensive it is to replace bags? it costs $40 dollars and I don't have allergies. I love my Dyson and bagless is the way to go for me.

  • I do agree that bagged are better and I am a Oreck owner and I totally love the Oreck, But still I do think that you went a little over with the emptying of the bagless vacuums, You kinda held it up in the air to high and they we're totally full,

  • Watch this for the truth about oreck. watch?v=Y2ZQV-hZ_3M

  • lol ! Don't you ever tried to put plastic shopping bag on dyson's dust container and then overturn it ? No dust at the floor at all !

And tell me about how oreck functioning with almost full bag ? (comparing to dyson's almost full dust container)

  • Lol. my dyson never "flies dust back into the house".

  • Maybe my Oreck needs to go into the shop for a checkup or something--it is 4 years old and I am no longer "thrilled" with it, but it could need work. My daughter in law brought her new Dyson and vacuumed behind me and I was shocked...so I guess we will go in for a check up. HERS does weigh a TON. I do hate the little vacuum they sent to vacuum the baseboards and upholstry with..the hose comes out constantly!

  • mmmm...this is what you do....you empty a bagless in a way that dust doesn't fly....then you save $650

  • Ours is awesome..we gave our dyson monster away for this and I'm glad we did. I can vacuum the floors and have no dust particles in the air. With the Dyson I had to open the windows after I vacuumed the airborne dust was so bad. I have 4 kids with allergies and this vacuum is a gem. The kids still have allergies but not as bad inside as with the Dyson.

  • Oreck beats out the Dyson hands down. Just because a vacuum doesn't loose suction doesn't mean it's a good vacuum. Dysons Spray fine particles of dust all threw the room..if you have allergies the oreck is the one to keep the air clean.actually any bagged vacuum is better because the air has to go threw like 5 layers of filters..bagless has to pull air threw cracks and spaces thus leaking dust particles.

  • Oh no, m22rockbox! That's horrible news. I've heard good things about the Oreck XL. Have you taken it to the shop? They have a great quick fix-it service, and warranty on top of that. NO luck?
