I think Brawl is way more noob friendly than Melee was. There is also a HUGE difference between characters. The characters in melee were more balanced.

I must say though, after playing at a Smashfest today, and a bunch of times in the past, Melee Kirby is so freaking good in doubles. You just can't help but gimp people with Bair/Dair/Uair, and Kirbycides are so easy to pull off (and survive) XD

Maybe in tourney matches things would be a bit different, but still. I suck at Melee and I still make a pretty good partner with Kirby against more serious Melee players.
